少林武僧火新（元彪 饰）本是香港一名神勇干探，因数年轻妻子带着女儿离开了他，加上在查案时误杀了一名青年，他一时看不开来到了少林寺出家。现在，火新和一班师兄弟回到了香港进行巡回表演，恰巧这时，一系列意想不到的命案发生了。接二连三有人突然浑身发热，发疯似的自残，最后惨死，连火新的前上司和好战友李sir都这样莫名其妙死去。为了查清真相，帮李sir申冤，火新决定留下来查明真相。火新与老友黄保（梁家仁 饰）的一个租客（陈豪 饰）一同住在黄保的出租房内，火新发现这么租客是一个男妓，但他的通灵感觉告诉他这人以后会和自己经历一系列惊险场面，案情越发扑朔迷离。火新再次成为通天干探！
