主要讲述时局波折动荡的魏晋时期，“针灸鼻祖”——皇甫谧的传奇故事。其人少年多顽劣，十七岁文墨不通，但聪慧过人悟性极高，后入杏林，拜华佗弟子善珍门下。皇甫谧以正气凌暴虐，不肯降志辱身，拒绝出仕。当皇甫谧遇上同样对抗宗族势力的香苓，二人惺惺相惜、互生好感的同时却由于身份阻挠产生恩怨纠葛。

本片根据日本漫画家尾田荣一郎的同名原著改编，是2005年上映的第六部动画剧场版。
