本次“孤独的美食家”系列是网剧，剧中没有优雅填饱肚子的五郎，而是出现了选店失败、遭遇意外等痛苦的趣事。该剧共有6集短故事，包括《外带篇》《新人店员篇》《员工餐篇》《食之流派篇》《拼桌篇》《外卖篇》。
