去哪里工作？为什么要结婚？和父母关系紧张？无法适应数字化的生活？一部反映80后、90后生活现状的纪录片引发网友关注和讨论。中国日报网出品的六集纪录片《中国青年》近期在互联网上热播，纪录片以中英双语向全球网友展示了青年人在发展变化中的中国社会里的现状。快速发展的中国给世界带来不一样的变化，在中国逐渐走上世界舞台获得更多注意力和影响力的同时，中国的年青一代正在逐步步入社会。这一代年青人有着与他们父辈截然不同的成长经历。他们的成长过程，伴随着中国的改革开放、计划生育等等前所未有的变革；数字时代带来的革命使得他们获得信息更加便捷，地球村宛若眼前。中国社会的急速变革在他们身上表现的如此清晰，既有欢乐，也有痛感。六集纪录片《中国青年》从工作、婚恋、亲子关系、信息与青年四个角度，讲述年青一代在当今社会中面临的问题。摄制组在近一个月的时间里，奔赴临沂、徐州、南京、上海、南昌、深圳、广州、北京等地，行程超过8000公里，采访各地20余位年青人，通过摄像机镜头将他们的生活、困窘、喜乐与希望展现给观众，期待能够通过他们的故事，展现当下中国的真实情况。多位专家刘道义、李银河、风笑天、廉思等，以他们多年观察研究的心得，剖析这一代年青人，从一个侧面折射中国发展进程中所面临的问题与矛盾。《中国青年》反映了改革开放后成长起来的年轻一代的精神面貌。2014年，距离中国开始实施改革开放政策已经过去了36年。在这36年里，一代青年人逐渐成长，他们见证了中国改革开放的全过程，成为中国社会发展举足轻重的力量。在这36年里，中国社会中发生的一切都投射在这一代年青人的身上。他们是计划生育政策实施后出生的一代人，中国社会中全新的家庭结构赋予他们更多的争议和讨论；他们接受了系统的高等教育，日趋完善的知识体系使得这一代年青人能够更加理性地看待这个世界和自身，他们是信息时代的原住民，网络是他们的生活方式，信息交流从来没有这么便捷和迅速。在这36年里发生的一切给中国社会带来了诸多的变化，这些变化无一不在这一代年青人身上体现。六集纪录片《中国青年》通过探讨当代中国青年普遍面临的现实问题，通过对社会现象的描述和分析，引起对青年人现状的思考。
