少年满江和爷爷生活在一个民风淳朴的渔村，村民们世代靠天吃饭，善良友爱。然而，这里流传着一个关于“海怪”的传说，因而无人敢靠近外海。一天，商人马老爷带着三个手下来到渔村，表面上与村民相处得其乐融融，实则打起了深海宝藏的主意。机缘巧合，少年满江发现，所谓的“海怪”竟然是一只背驼小岛的巨龟，由此展开了一段传奇的海上大冒险……
