2014年考古学家在福建葫芦山勘测，发现了惊天大秘密：葫芦神庙和千年前金刚葫芦娃墓，同时出土的还有翡翠的七颗神奇葫芦挂链，在经过漫天的新闻报道同时，特大黑社会犯罪走私团伙，也得到了这个消息，并暗地里绑架了考古学家爷爷。爷爷在被绑架的时候，秘密把七颗葫芦挂坠掉包藏了起来。黑社会走私团伙虽然绑架了爷爷，并没有得到神奇的葫芦娃挂坠，对爷爷严刑拷打逼供。在人间，葫芦神指定转世的七个人虽然在从事各自的职业，无意中得到了线人给的葫芦挂坠，并得知了葫芦神的秘密。带上葫芦挂坠，就可以变身葫芦超人。他们几个人辗转相聚在一起，开始了保卫人类和平的任务，踏上了拯救爷爷的漫长旅程。
