HBO正式预定Amy Adams主演《利器 Sharp Objects》，首季为8集。《利器》小说发布于2006年，讲述的是Amy Adams将饰演的记者Camile Preaker，刚刚从精神病院出来就面临了不少麻烦：她必须回到她的家乡小镇去报道两名未成年少女的谋杀事件。Camile一直和她的母亲还有同母异父的古怪妹妹很疏远，但却被逼和她们住在一起。此外随着调查的深入，她发现自己和被害者有很多共同点，在战胜自己心魔的同时她还要慢慢挖掘故事的真相。Amy Adams转战电视屏幕的《利器》，是《消失的爱人 Gone Girl》作者Gillian Flynn的处女作。该剧将由Jean-Marc Vallee执导。该剧早在《消失的爱人》火遍全球之前就已被提上拍摄计划。该剧将由Marti Noxon执笔改编，Noxon和Flynn也会共同制片。Amy Adams曾拍摄了《超人：钢铁之躯 Man of Steel》，《她 Her》，并凭借《大眼睛 Big Eyes》获得了奥斯卡女主角提名。
