《向西聞記》改編自香港著名網絡小說作家、向西村上春樹歷年來的最佳短篇小說，劇集分成13個單元，期望帶給香港人有創意的電視劇；劇集班底亦為港產史上最強，並由張繼聰主演，他在宣傳片中說：「香港人唔使再忍喇！3月8日，hmvod原創劇集《向西聞記》隆重首播。」首個出爐單元，會係張繼聰同榮升媽咪級嘅胡杏兒聯手演出兩集《畜牲傳心師》。戲中張繼聰飾演一個招搖撞騙嘅動物傳心師，四圍呃錢又呃女，就連最心愛嘅杏兒都唔放過。喺預告片入面阿聰仲不停爆粗，流俐之外仲字字鏗鏘「喺香港最搵錢嘅工就係呃x人！再高一個level係呃x人錢，又唔犯法。」
宇航员高村宗一（千叶雄大饰）为了取得人类在宇宙中舒适生活的样本数据，在宇宙中停留了1年之久。极度讨厌人类的他，摆脱了烦人的人际关系，与人工智能Yuri（吉冈里帆饰）一起满足于在宇宙中独自生活。有一天，他收到了前恋人鲇原咲子（门胁麦饰）的卫星线路采访。在画面上久别重逢，两人不知不觉间变成了吵架，宗一产生了怀念的心情。另一方面，人工智能Yuri发现宗一抱有的感情接近人类的恋爱之情，开始对自己存在的意义产生疑问。
该剧集根据三部敬同名漫画改编，男主角藤沼悟拥有一种特殊能力，如果他出现的附近有人丧生，时间就会倒流到事故诱因发生的那一刻。悟必须找出它，并改变它，从而拯救被害者；否则时间就会不断循环倒流，直至找出原因。值得一提的是，该剧集主要在日本北海道拍摄，当地闻名的雪景和函馆山夜景在剧中都有展示。剧集将于12月15日Netflix上线。
