本片改编自一个真实的银行抢劫案。2006年，一群盗贼抢劫了位于阿卡苏索的里约热内卢银行，这被认为是历史上最著名、最聪明的银行抢劫案之一。他们抢劫银行所采用的方式和在那之后发生的一系列事情都让人惊讶不已。
