《深夜食堂》讲述了发生在一个小餐馆的故事，这里的菜单只有猪肉酱汤套餐一种，但是老板可以根据客人的要求利用现有食材做出各种料理，而且他还会和客人一起带出一个个充满人情味的故事。来小餐馆的有各式各样的客人，有黑社会份子，有没名气的演员，还有上班族和OL三人组。
在这里将会通过手续，决定那些因自杀、他杀、病死、意外死亡等各种原因而死去的人们该去向哪里。
