本剧由曾执导《蓝色月光》的Glenn Gordon Caron担任制片和监制，他是一位曾获得艾美奖的金牌制片人。本剧取材于现实生活中灵媒大师Allison DuBois多年研究成果。艾美奖得主Patricia Arquette在剧中饰演一位年轻的妻子和母亲，她自孩提时代起就一直试图弄清在梦中所见的那些以死之人的事。作为一名兼职顾问，Allison来到地区检察官办公室，运用其能与死者交谈以及能预知未来的超能力，协助侦破一些严重的恶性刑事案件。她与其充满神秘色彩的检察官Devalos和其他人一起共同维护本地区的治安。 Jake Weber在剧中饰演Allison的丈夫Joe，他永远是Allison最坚强的后盾。而Sofia Vassilieva与Maria Lark在剧中饰演两个最年长的孩子Ariel和Bridget。David Cubitt在剧中饰演侦探Lee Scanlon，Madison Carabello则是那个最小的孩子Marie Dubois。Caron是本剧的监制和制片。担任制片的还有Kelsey Grammer、Steve Stark、Rene Echevarria以及凭借《普通人》一片获得奥斯卡奖的Ronald L.
