《菜刀班尖刀连》的故事设定在日本侵略，东北沦陷之后。林江国在剧中饰演与哥哥一起落草为寇的窦二虎，为人暴躁却正气十足，虽然江湖味十足却有勇有谋。林江国表示这个人物有非常独特的地方和耐人寻味的矛盾点，自己的亲哥哥被杀害，窦二虎被仇恨笼罩，却最终放下了仇恨，甚至愿意为自己曾经憎恨的人养老送终......
